About this place
At Osakaya, inside Spa World, you can settle in for a drink without leaving the building after a soak. The menu includes串かつ, robatayaki and other grilled dishes, giving you plenty of choice for a meal or something to accompany a drink.
One visitor recalled ordering grilled shishamo, noting that its savoury aroma went particularly well with a drink. Another meal included grilled skirt steak, beef tongue, tsukune and chicken thigh. For a spread centred on grilled dishes,串かつ makes a fitting Osaka-style addition. A five-piece assorted platter costs ¥850, while a ten-piece platter is ¥1,680. You can choose a platter to suit your appetite or the size of your group, or order individual meat skewers, including pork belly for ¥180, offal for ¥170 and chicken tenderloin for ¥180.
The house-made tsukune, listed as a speciality, is another option. Choose from green onion and salt, cheese, egg yolk or grated daikon with ponzu; each is ¥680. The different toppings make it easy to find a skewer that suits your taste.
For a lighter bite, try the oden simmered in house-made dashi. Daikon, deep-fried tofu and egg, among other items, are ¥140 each; an assortment of five costs ¥800. To finish a meal, there is ochazuke with your choice of pickled plum, spicy cod roe or salmon for ¥550. The meat soup, or nikusui, costs ¥680; one diner remembered its broth as notably sweet.
Osakaya serves meals in the restaurant, from lunch set meals to evening izakaya fare, and offers beer and other alcoholic drinks. It is open daily from 11:00 until 3:00 the following day. During a day at Spa World, it can work for anything from串かつ with a drink to a more substantial meal.
